It’s been a super hot and busy summer. It was gone before I knew it. The days have gotten shorter as the sun dips prematurely below the glistening edge of pristine coastal waters. Time flows on waiting for no one.
While writing projects and building new websites for small business owners took priority, stories of fiction waited patiently for their turn under my pen. I am refreshed to see them again and contemplate wild scenarios that make up their dream worlds. Vivid imaginations of the passions and emotions possessed by each character’s soul are awakened.
It is good to be back, even comforting to spend time with them like coming home to a warm ethereal place by a crackling fire in a stone hearth. Heavenly.
Seated at the writing table are characters waiting for their next queue in the stories where they are placed. The looks on their faces say “Where have you been? We’ve been waiting.”
“I am here.” I announce unapologetically. “Bills gotta be paid ya know.”
They are understanding and forgiving but bored and ready for some action. I shall give it to them. Some of it they won’t like and a few won’t survive it. Each will have their own shining moments of victory and overcoming perceived adversity as well as points where it appears that all has been lost.
And so it is with story writing. I’d better to get back to my characters-in-waiting before they rip me a new one!
